Single inductive loop + 2 quartz pressure sensors

Measuring system with a single inductive loop and two quartz pressure sensors

The most popular system for preselection weighing of vehicles in traffic. The use of quartz sensors instead of polymer sensors allows to increase the accuracy of weighing results.

Module required:
k. WIM – module working with single inductive loop and two quartz pressure sensors
Required sensors:
one induction loop
two quartz pressure sensors

Moduł: k. WIM
Module: k. WIM

Measured parameters:

  • vehicle arrival time (with 0.01s resolution),
  • vehicle counts,
  • interval between vehicles (0. 01s resolution),
  • magnetic profile and vehicle classification based on it
(4 classes are distinguished: cars, vans, trucks, buses)
  • trailer detection,
  • speed measurement (measurement error < 1 km/h),
  • length measurement (measurement error 2%),
  • number of axles,
  • distance between axles (measurement error +-1 cm),
  • classification by length (4 vehicle classes are distinguished),
  • classification by FHWA F or ALT,
  • axle tensions (measurement error 10 – 15%),
  • total vehicle mass (measurement error 7 – 10%).

Determined characteristics (variation as a function of time):

  • traffic density,
  • flow (mass and vehicles),
  • lane occupancy,
  • average speed,
  • number of vehicles by class (according to selected classification scheme).
